Broadway Courtyard

The Soho courtyard is a perfect example demonstrating how architects, The Landmarks Commission, and the Department of Building can collaborate to bring great financial value to a building owner. This non-conforming 194,800 square foot landmark office building had an unused open courtyard. Once enclosed our firm was able to add over 1,000 square feet on the ground floor through meticulous mechanical reallocation without increasing its degree of non-conformance. This new double height prime retail space will be enclosed with three grand skylights flooding light into newly exposed brick. A new floor slab will provide additional storage space for a prime retail tenant on the cellar level.
